A Very Happy New Year To You All!

I’m sitting here once again, it’s Sunday evening and I’m watching one of my favorite shows – Bonanza! Bonanza has been a favorite of my family’s since I was very young. I remember Sunday evenings watching Bonanza at my Grandparents house. Why do I mention Bonanza? Well it’s programs like this that endure for years and years. Even though the show is only re-runs now, it’s still on after 50 years! This show is a classic, and that’s what I feel Mulberry Cottage is… a shop that endures through time. This is all because of you, our faithful customers! 2009 has come to a close and what a year it has been! With all the craziness that has gone on, we were faced with challenges but because of you, we’re still here and will continue!

So with 2009 now behind us we are looking to an exciting 2010! This year I have set some New Year challenges, and you know how I love challenges! This year the gals and I have to top this past year and many of you have asked me how can you do any better?? Well that’s all I need to hear and my mind has been working overtime and WOW, have I come up with some exciting things… from new unique products lines to new calendar events. I have some great things planned! I want to give each of you a little tip. Each month after you read this letter, take the calendar and put it on your refrigerator. This will help insure you don’t miss a thing. One thing that’s new to the calendar each week is senior citizen discount day! Every Wednesday, all seniors (60 plus) get 10% off all regular priced items! This is so deserving to all you seniors out there so please do check your calendars.

We are getting ready for the next special holiday, Valentines Day! Some very special, unique items from a few new lines have arrived and will be displayed soon, and will make any special Valentine smile. January is also the time for the Gift shows and the LA Mart so I will be taking, Leslie and my display gals, Michelle and Veronica on the hunt for some more wonderful, unique treasures, holiday decorations, and gifts for the coming year. You all know how picky I am, so what we find will surely add warmth to your home or bring a smile to the lucky person you give the special treasure to.

Again, I have asked the Mulberry Gals to write about their New Year’s Challenges for this coming year. Make sure you check it out to read what the Mulberry gals have to say. I do want to take this opportunity to say CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Michelle Vanlerberghe, our Display Director, wife and mother of three boys, who passed her first degree Black Belt test in Taekwondo! I know this was one of the challenges she set out to accomplish last year, and she did! And let me tell you, it was tough!

Several of you that have told me about your wonderful table settings or holiday decorated homes that were completed with Mulberry Cottage treasures. If any of you have pictures of your decorated tables and homes, please bring in or e-mail me pictures. I would love to put your pictures on our website. It would be wonderful to have other Mulberry Cottage customers see how others decorate for the seasons!

Well, I have a great team working with me, as well as the support of my husband and family, so all of the exciting things I have planned I have no doubt will be great, and we do this all for you our faithful customers and, shall I say, FANS. Just like Bonanza has it’s loyal following, so does Mulberry Cottage and your loyalty is what will ensure Mulberry Cottage endures. I hope there will be a Mulberry Cottage 50th Anniversary, and fans will look back in time and remember.

My wish to all of you this year, a year filled with wonderful memories, full of health and happiness. I thank you all for all your kind words throughout the year and your continued support and love you all continue to give me and all the Mulberry gals.

Love and God bless,

Jamie
