Thanksgiving Greetings to all of you,

Yes it’s November, which starts the wonderful time of year of thankfulness, family gatherings, yummy food and gift giving! And we’re ready to kick-off the season! By the time read this, we’ll be in the final stages of preparing the shop ready for our biggest day of the year… our Christmas Open House on November 7th! Right now, I’m writing this letter at the shop during a brief break in our decorating while one of our decorators, Michelle ran home to eat dinner with her family. But she’s returning soon so we can continue decorating on through the night! Once again everyone has been working overtime to get the shop ready. Last night Michelle, Veronica and I walked out of here at about 2:30 am! But all the effort is worth it.

When you enter the shop, you will be in awe with what you see… You will walk through a beautiful icy winter land that sparkles and shines. Up the front porch you’ll find Mrs. Claus’s kitchen filled with yummy goodies, tasty sweets, wonderful jams and jellies, and a delicious new line of Pickled Beats and Pickled Asparagus under the Mulberry Cottage Hometown Favorites label by House of Webster. Just off the Kitchen is Santa’s special room filled with many wonderful treasures and decorations. Down the ramp from Santa’s room you will find many more gifts for your special family and friends. We have an abundance of wonderful Christmas cards from Lang, Carol Wilson and more, we also have some wonderful cozy Holiday throws and rugs to keep your feet warm in those chilly mornings. There are too many wonderful treasures that I can’t mention them all. You’ll have to come and see for yourself.
On this day we will be giving away a very special holiday gift to the first 100 customers with a $40 purchase (one gift per customer please), so get there early! We know that standing in lines can be a little tiresome so we have again invited the wonderfully sounding Christmas Carolers and we’ll be serving hot cocoa and coffee while you wait! And don’t forget all of the tasty holiday treats we will be sampling.

Just a friendly reminder, since the shop will be very busy on this day, we ask if you have little wee ones that you park any strollers outside. Also, we will be closed on November 5th & 6th as we finish “making the store merry” for this special day. But, don’t wait until the 7th. We will be giving out free raffle tickets with $20 purchase for those that shop between the 1st and the 4th! For many of you, this prize could be the best of all. Five lucky winners will get to enter the Open House 30 minutes before everyone else! No lines, crowds, or any other customers! Must be present at 9:30 AM to win.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each of the wonderful gals who help make Mulberry Cottage a special place. Leslie who keeps me on track, Marsha, Simone, Hanna, and two new gals who have joined the Mulberry Cottage family: Lisa and Tami. Make sure you say hi to them. These gals do a fantastic job helping all of you that come into our cozy shop. My two designers Veronica and Michelle — Wow! Once again they have helped me create the vision of a storybook Christmas… THESE GALS ARE TALENTED! I’m truly blessed to have all of these girls in my life. I can’t forget my little sister “Jan Jan”, who has been a huge help in the back office, and my husband Mitch. I love you. I’m blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for designing the calendar and website, the FANTASTIC BANNER and for all the support you’ve given me! And a special thank you to my mother-in-law Carol Chase. She gives us so much of her time to help us with pricing items. I just love her! All of us at the shop think the world of her!

As it’s that time of year to reflect on what we’re thankful for, I’ve asked each of the girls to reflect and write what they’re thankful for and we’ve added them to our website. Please be sure to read each of their special thankful messages. I am so thankful to all of you who shop with us. Your support keeps Mulberry Cottage alive. I also can’t thank you enough for your friendship. I love talking with each of you. I hear so many special stories about your lives and what you love about the shop. Between my wonderful family, all of my sisters, in-laws, my kitties, and especially with all of you… my life is filled with blessings.
