It was truly a magical day at our Spring Open House! I want to thank all who came and made our Spring Open House so special! I also thank the shop girls for their diligence and enthusiasm getting the shop ready, and I especially appreciate Simone, Veronica, and Michelle who labored all through the night until morning! We left the shop at 5:30 am just as other shop owners were arriving to work. We just laughed as Michelle said “OK, I’m going home to shower and be back by 8:00 am.” My gosh! We pulled an all-niter and still had energy to spare! All the effort was truly worth it, as the store looked amazing with all the spring colors. It was like Mulberry Cottage put on her special Easter Dress just for all of you!

This day was so joyous and eventful! Lucky customers Karen Baron and Eva Cruz-Aedo found the golden Easter eggs and won $20 gift certificates, and Karen Borton won the raffle for a gorgeous Vera Bradley tote bag in Cupcakes Pink! We even had Olivia, the Easter Bunny stop by for a visit! I’m not kidding! A real bunny! Olivia belongs to Katrina Ison, one of our faithful customers who raises rabbits. She was so beautiful with her long floppy ears and big bunny feet. There was Celtic music playing in the background, and spring aromas filling the air, and the kitchen area smelled like Grandma’s kitchen as some yummy foods were being sampled. Last month I told you about Vera Bradley returning to Mulberry Cottage. I’m so pleased to see so many of you came in to snap up their latest designs. We’ve also been taking many special orders. If you don’t find a special Vera item in stock, make sure to see one of the Mulberry gals to place an order. To celebrate the return of Vera, we’re having another raffle for a Vera Bradley backpack in Purple Punch. This backpack is so perfect for spring. Please see the calendar for details.

Easter is such a traditional time for family and friends to gather and strengthen the family bonds and renew one’s faith in God’s love. We’re going to help by giving out our favorite Easter Brunch recipes for your family gathering! Make sure you check out the calendar for the days. While you’re picking up items for the recipes, don’t forget to get one of our new Oil Cloth aprons. These are great! Anything you spill on it, just wipes right off. Or choose a lovely vintage-inspired apron from our Moda and Jessie Steele lines. And of course, we also have some adorable aprons for the wee little ones! You’ll also find some beautiful dish ware and linens from Charles Sadek to dress up your Spring table. If you love toil then these are perfect, and I can’t forget to mention the tableware that look like roses. You must see these beautiful plates. And they look stunning next to our unique cabbage leaf shaped pitchers and salad bowls and set on top of cabbage leaf place mats. You can also freshen up your kitchen and dining room with some wonderful April Cornell linens in a bouquet of light colors, romantic florals, and pretty plaids.

Now I’ve been talking about some wonderful Spring items for you big folks. Now, we can’t forget the little ones. We definitely have lots of cuddly bunnies, ducks, chicks and delicious goodies for those Easter baskets! I promise your little ones will hop for joy when they see their baskets on Easter morning!!

I’ve only mentioned a few of the many assorted treasures at Mulberry Cottage to make your Easter and Springtime bloom with color! The shop is still dressed up with so many delightful Springtime decorations and gifts for those special Easter baskets, you just have to come and see!
